Flashback Friday: Afghanistan
I spent seven-and-a-half months in Afghanistan in 2012 augmenting a critically-manned aircrew field. It was a great job, and quite the experience. My entries from that time are typically pretty short because I was so busy. Here's one from less than a month before I left to come back home. I was stationed at Bagram Air Field at the time.

Me in Afghanistan.

I had my 102nd flight today, and had a trainee, who was really sharp (yay!). After the flight I found out my tracker was completely deleted from the webpage. :( So, I had to figure out how to reload it, & it wasn't quite working right so I had to call the computer folks to come help me figure it out. Finally we got it up and running. Fun, fun.
Oh! But actual fun! When we all went to dinner, I saw [name redacted] grab a couple diet cokes to drink w/his meal, and was reminded of Capt R's obsession w/the beverage & her having me grab a couple on the way out of chow one time. Knowing how much she's been working lately, I had everyone grab one on our way out, & we took them right over to her at the office. You'd have thought it was Christmas, lol. :)
